Have you ever wondered what would happen if you put a boiled egg in a cup of coke?

We did an experiment with coke and a boiled egg to see what would happen would it grow? would it dissolve? or would it just be the same? Our main observation we were looking at was the cause and effect on a boiled egg. I wondered for a second what if the coke bites through the egg and dissolves inside? Because of the carbon dioxide it might actually disappear but i think it might grow bigger than it’s normal size. My group thought of some ideas on what would happen and we all said it might grow or change colour.

How did we do it?

The first thing we did was we got into groups and sorted out where we were going to sit. We then put our egg in carefully in the beaker and left it till we got our drink there were other drinks to like (Water,Milk,Coke Zero, and mix of all) we then sat patiently and waited for our drink. Our teacher poured the drink in carefully well we waited we sat on the mat and took notes. We 

                               

   What happened?

  When we took the egg out of the beaker it went brown and it looked darker than its original colour. The spot on the egg had blended in with the egg and with the coke on the surface  there was a film (Photo at the bottom).After taking the egg out and putting it on the plate we got toothpaste and a toothbrush and we went around in circles brushing the egg.When we were brushing the egg with toothpaste it was going back to its original colour.

Drawing conclusions

When we brushed the egg and it went back to its original our teacher said it was the citric acid and phosphoric acid in coke that erodes your teeth and made the egg change colour so i suggest after having a drink of coke or coke zero you brush your teeth and keep them clean

Bacteria is a germ that gets spread around easily whether it’s by a sneeze or one little cough with the slightest touch you can get there illnesses. However bacteria can also be good because It helps break down dead animal or plant life some germs are probiotics and are good for our 

digestive health.

What are  microbes?

Microbes are tiny little organisms Some microbes can make yourself sick or even kill you. Microbes- Break down food - Helps keep our soil healthy and fertilized. Did you know that microbes can cause death to anyone or anything, so if you touch something make sure to always wash your hands. Because if you don’t then lots of germs will come on you.

How does bacteria affects your life?

Bacteria can make you really sick it even says that you can make your baby sick or your baby brother if you have one. It can also spread easily and get you sick from a sneeze,cough or a influenza which is a fever ike coughing and runny noses. Did you know that you can get negative effect from human life

Squid info report

Have you ever seen a squid in the deep ocean floating like your swimming? Well if you haven’t i’m gonna tell you why they have big eyes and there different body parts Just for your own sake.

Why do squid have big eyes?

Reasons why Giant squid has humongous eyes is because it helps them see in the deep were its dark.So when predator comes Dashing up to them they can use there  ink sacks to escape that sea creature.It also helps them escape their mortal enemy that's attacking them.Here's a cool fact.Giant squids have eyes as big as a human head Crazy right?.

 Different body parts of a squid?

The different body parts of a squid are amazing. There like no other animals “Well except octopuses” they have extraordinary things inside them. Like a gladuris {Also called a pen} .you can use the pen to draw with the ink from its ink sack. Ink sack is something they use to get away from their predator .Squid protect themselves with their water jet to swim away from their predator. The water jet prepals them up and helps them swim away faster. Squid have eight tentacles the have suckers on all eight tentacles to help them catch prey to survive and then eat it.

Banning plastic bags

Have you ever stumbled upon a dead turtle spewing out plastic from its mouth? 

Well if you haven’t i’m here to tell you how to stop this cause trust me it ain’t pretty it’s horrendous .

 Here's a damaging fact; Some turtles have up to 224 pieces of plastic in them. Also about 100 million marine animals die because of our plastic. Plastic bags kill animals. Our plastic kills birds because when they get trapped in out plastic, they starve to death. 

Our plastics also cause pollution. They can cause pollution from polymer chains and is it good how they end up in our landfill? No it’s DISGUSTING.Did you know when you burn plastic it causes co2 which breaks down our ozone layer.Which causes floods,tsunamis and death to all.

This is bad for our environment.

Cause it turns into micro plastics  and overflows our landfill.

Which means when we build houses, it causes  it to smell and  rot in the ground. Which also means  there going to have to knock down houses. It gets stuck on turtle shells and causes death to them. Which is really sad it turns into coal bleaching  in the ocean. that's bad isn’t it?

balloon experiment

Force and motion

On Monday morning in room 10 we did  an experiment of Force and Motion. Force and motion is push or pull.  First we watched a video. It was  about Force and Motion. Then we got into groups. In my group I had Mereka, Priya, Reaini , Brooke and Amyleigh.  Second we tested it. How we tested it was we threw it to the person across from us or next to us. But first we got into a circle. Last we went on webcam video recorder and made a video. We were recording ourselves so we could see what was happening to the balloon when we throw it to each other. Then we sat at our desk and Miss Matthews got Tuatu and Zidane to stand up and throw the balloon to each other in different way.  For example under arm, over arm and like a shot put throw.  Miss Matthews took the video because she wanted us to see how the balloon inside the other balloon was spinning.  So she put it in slow motion. She wanted us to look at the balloon to see how the little balloon was spinning making the bigger balloon spin too.

If I was to change this experiment i would  put 3 water balloons in the big balloon because then it would be more heavy for the balloon to throw to someone. I Think it would fall to the ground because it would be to heavy. By Jahnera
